Home sweet nowhere.

It seemed as though the towering cliffs and gorges would never end. Instead they grew higher and highly and increasingly tighter the deeper into the chasm we travelled. Until, at last, with a breath of natural light we were once again greeted by green, in an area of the river where erosion had softened the soaring red cliffs. It was a place of unimaginable beauty, and while we dropped anchor, the river continued into the horizon.

This would become our Berkley River base camp, from where we conducted most of our tender missions and adventures. The following day, we put the drone up to get a shot of the anchorage we had woken up in. We were, again, taken back.

This was the first time we understood the magnitude of the wilderness we had sailed ourselves into or grasped the radical nature of the adventure we had only just begun to embark on. The incomprehensible scale of the river we could feel from within its walls was somehow further widened from above. It felt as if the outback stretched as far as the cosmos. We were a mere blemish in a deep scar etched into the landscape from thousands of years of rain. 

This is exactly the wild we have been chasing!
